Since 1979, the Santa Fe de Bogotá Foundation and the Universidad de los Andes began to work together in the creation of a Medicine program. In 2001, the creation of the Faculty of Medicine project was consolidated, leading to its officialization in 2003.

For the benefit of education, innovation, and knowledge management in health and social development in the country, the Universidad de los Andes and the Fundación Santa Fe de Bogotá renewed their alliance for life in 2017. This renewal of the alliance also includes that the students of the Faculty of Medicine carry out their studies, research, and practices in the hands of doctors, specialists, and researchers of the Foundation, joint ventures in their undergraduate, internship, and postgraduate programs, research and research groups and work in the fields of biomedical and genetic engineering, among others.

Within the framework of this alliance, and with the support of donors, we seek to promote mental health projects that we feel are an essential part of general well-being and support students’ training in the graduate program in Psychiatry at the Universidad de los Andes.
